Boy's Track & Field

​

   I was the Head Boys Track and Field Coach at Edina High School from 2011-2018. I grew up in Winona, Minnesota and graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1988 where I was a three-year letter winner in Track & Field along with four other letters in Basketball and Football. I then attended Winona State University, graduating in 1992.  I also have a Master’s degrees from St. Mary’s University (MA: Education - 2003) and the University of St. Thomas (MA: Athletic & Activity Administration -  2011).

   As a Head Coach, I have coached on several successful teams at Winona Cotter and Robbinsdale Cooper prior to joining the staff at Edina in 2007. In 2010, I was an Assistant Coach when the team was Class AA 2nd Place at the State Meet and the Head Coach in 2016 when the team was Class AA 2nd Place at the State Meet. In 2017 the team finished 2nd at the Class AAA True Team State Championships. I have coached 36 different State Athletes (4 Champions and 6 Runner-Ups) and 10 State Relay Teams (1 Champion, 4 Runner-Ups). I am a Registered Athletic Administrator with the NIAAA, a Certified USATF Level 1 Track and Field Coach, and was named the 1997 Section 1A Coach of the Year at Winona Cotter High School and the 2016 and 2017 Section 6AA Coach of the Year at Edina High School.

   I am proud to state that I have also created a charity event in conjunction with the Edina Track & Field Invitational, "Run, Jump, and Throw Down Cancer" which has raised over $9000 for the Randy Shaver Cancer and Community Fund.

Boy's Cross Country

​

   I was a coach with the team at Edina High School from 2012-2018 as the Head JV coach. We won the 2018 State Meet and finished 2nd in 2012, 2013, and 2016.

     I am currently serving as the Section 6AA Boys Sports Delegate.

Minnesota State High School League

​

     I am currently a certified Track & Field Official and have officiated at the State Meet in 2019 (High Jump). I also serve on the Track & Field Advisory Board.

Boy's and Girl's Track & Field

​

   From 2000-2006 I coached the jumping events (High, Long, and Triple) for both the girls and boys teams.  In 2005 I was also the Co-Head Coach for the boy's team.​

   From 1999-2001 I coached with the boy's team as the JV coach and also the 9th grade coach.

   In 1999 I was the jumps coach for both the girls and boys team.

​

   In the 1998-1999 season I coached the sophomore girls basketball team.
